The Antlers Hotel – A Downtown Colorado Springs Icon

Originally built by General Jackson Palmer, the Antlers Hotel has survived fires and demolition to be the icon it is today.

The first Antlers Hotel, which opened is 1883 and burned down in 1898. This image is from the PPLD Digital Archive.

 

The second Antlers Hotel, built after the first burned down. This version of the hotel opened in 1901 and closed its doors in a tear-filled goodbye singing of Auld Lang Syne in 1964 before it was demolished. This image is from the PPLD Digital Archive.
